The City of Denver’s Solid Waste Management Division is conducting an update to the City’s Solid Waste Strategic Plan. The City is trying to take a wholistic approach to sustainable materials management by examining the necessary technical assistance, policy, infrastructure, and end-markets needed to foster sustainable circular economies for recyclables and organics here in Colorado. As a part of the master planning efforts, the division is leading the workshop "Transforming Denver to a Circular Economy by 2030" at Mayor Michael B. Hancock’s 5th Annual Sustainable Denver Summit on December 5. As a workshop participant you will play a critical role in telling Denver, and even Colorado, what actions to take to transform our waste diversion system towards circular economies. This workshop will be a hands-on experience in identifying the challenges and opportunities by each material across the supply chain. This is a two-part workshop, and attendees are encouraged to attend both the morning and afternoon session. Part 1: 11:15 am - 12:10 pm
Part 2: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Attendees will have assigned seating based on where their organizations fall in the supply chain and the materials they impact the most (fiber, glass, metals, organics, or plastics).
