What We Do

Our goal is to ensure more than 50% of Colorado’s current waste stream is diverted to reuse/remanufacturing or compost by advancing infrastructure, end markets and policies in waste reduction, recovery and diversion. There are five things we do to accomplish this:

COUNCILS - Organized member groups that meet quarterly and monthly for regional or material updates to work on action projects or legislation.

ROUND TABLES - Discussions with stakeholders on specific material, regional or policy issues. Round tables are focused on either solutions or information.

ACTION PROJECTS - A group that forms as a result of a round table to work on a 12-month project to solve for a material or policy issue or gap in a closed-loop system. Examples: glass collection pilot, illegal electronics disposal survey and cardboard box-collection pilot.

POLICY - The Recycle Colorado Policy Committee works on local and state policy to advance waste diversion through reuse, remanufacturing and composting.

EVENTS - The Summit for Recycling conference brings together stakeholders from all sectors to work on and learn about circular economy and policy solutions for all materials. The Annual Meeting is a one-day event for members to learn about everything that is being accomplished in action groups, councils and committees.
