Dear Members of Recycle Colorado,
As winter gives way to spring across our beautiful state, I am reminded that change can be both challenging and full of promise. I am writing to share some personal news with you: After more than three incredible years, I will be stepping down as Executive Director to focus on family matters in Arkansas. I will continue to serve through our Summit for Recycling in June of this year and I am honored to play an active role in the search for the organization’s next leader.
Serving this organization—alongside all of you—has been the pinnacle of my professional career and this transition is sooner than I would prefer. The passion, energy, and vision of our membership have inspired me daily. Together, we have expanded programming, grown our impact, and hosted three vibrant and successful Summits that brought the community together to build momentum around waste diversion and circularity in Colorado. Recycle Colorado is stronger than ever, and that’s because of our members. You are the heart of this organization, and your experience, insights, and passion are what guide its mission forward. As we begin this next chapter, I want to encourage members to consider applying for the Executive Director role. Your lived experience within the network and commitment to our mission make you uniquely qualified.
I am grateful for the privilege of working with inspiring members, a supportive and visionary Board of Directors, and an incredible Ally Byzewski, our Operations Coordinator. I’m proud of our accomplishments and confident the progress will continue under new leadership.
I leave this role with a deep sense of gratitude, knowing that the future of Recycle Colorado is bright. I will continue to be a loud cheerleader and an advocate for this work—because I believe wholeheartedly in our mission and vision. I look forward to celebrating our collective accomplishments together at the Summit before passing the torch.
Gratefully yours,
Liz Chapman
