RFP: Wasteless Colorado Springs

A request for proposals to hire a consultant for the City of Colorado Springs’ waste characterization study and action plan (project titledWastelessCOS) is now posted on BidNet. The closing date to submit proposals is 3pm MDT on March 15. The number for the posting is R23-006CA.

The Plan will provide an analysis of the community’s needs, opportunities, and challenges regarding waste and recycling, as well as a thorough exploration and prioritization of implementation options. The project will involve collaboration amongst numerous entities, including Colorado Springs Utilities, the State Department of Public Health and Environment, local stakeholders, and community members. Funding from the FWRD program also included budget to hire three student interns to assist with this project. The completed document will present an action-ready plan that will identify implementable short and long-term strategies to meet the State’s waste diversion goals. In addition, the completed document will also list cost projections and potential funding strategies of implementing the short and long-term initiatives, where applicable.
