City of Aspen is Hiring a Waste Diversion and Recycling Program Administrator

The Waste Diversion and Recycling Program Administrator would be someone who performs professional planning, technical and oversight work necessary for waste reduction, recycling, composting, and other Environmental Health programs, consistent with the organization’s values and mission statement. Works with public agencies and private interests to improve environmental quality and heighten environmental awareness. Works as part of the Environmental Health and Sustainability Department team on other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

Waste Reduction: Responsible for the Waste Reduction Program including policy development, program management, and administrative functions. Programs include recycling, composting, reduction of single use items, electronic waste, Green events, and others.  Works to develop policies related to waste reduction, enforces, and administers current polies, analyzes programs for effectiveness and recommends changes as needed to City Management and elected officials.  Prepares and delivers reports and presentations to City Council and other groups.

Special Projects: Works on special projects dealing with waste and other environmental health and sustainability related topics as assigned by the Director of Environmental Health and Sustainability and City Council.  

Citizen Concern Response: Responds to and helps resolve citizen complaints related to environmental health.

This position is responsible for upholding and applying these values while performing daily work functions.
