Capturing Value in Colorado

Recycle Colorado is a 501(c)3, statewide nonprofit organization advancing circular economies & improving recycling across the state of Colorado. Our members share a vision to transform Colorado into a national leader in waste reduction, recovery, and diversion.

Our membership consists of 148 organizations and individuals who collaborate on problems, solutions, projects, and policy. With the support of our members, we are able to plan an annual Summit for Recycling conference, webinars, and many other educational events throughout the year. Colorado's recycling rate of 16% does not reflect the conservation mindset of its residents. We believe that communication between all aspects of the waste stream, haulers, producers, users, recyclers, composters, and cities and counties, is vital to achieving Colorado's diversion goals which preserve the state's beauty and resources.

Meet Brandy Moe

Our new Executive Director: Brandy Moe!

Last month, we announced the departure of its treasured Executive Director, Liz Chapman. Since that announcement, Recycle Colorado has been in search of its new leader. We are thrilled to announce that Brandy Moe has accepted the position of Executive Director of Recycle Colorado.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take on this role. It feels like both a continuation of a journey I care deeply about and a meaningful new chapter,” said Moe about her new position. “Recycle Colorado has been a place where I’ve found deep purpose, lasting connections, and a shared passion for making a difference. I have so much respect and admiration for Liz Chapman and the thoughtful, impactful leadership she’s brought to this organization. It’s an honor to follow in her footsteps, and I’m excited to help carry our mission forward into the future.”

The Summit for Recycling annual conference is the biggest statewide networking and educational event focused on capturing the value in our waste stream and moving towards a circular economy in Colorado. We were super excited to bring the Summit to a location with so much happening around waste diversion this year. Check out the agenda and amazing list of speakers we had from 2025. We hope you can join us in 2026 on the Front Range!

Citizen Science Summer

This summer, our fellow is gathering information from communities across Colorado to understand what we do with our organic waste.

We would love your help gathering responses from breweries, farmers & ranchers at your local markets, or anyone else with organic waste that could contribute valuable information!

If you are interested in helping with citizen science this summer while visiting breweries and farmers markets, please fill out the following form and we will send you a folder with all the materials you need!

You can chat with as many or as few people as you would like. You only need to ask them 4 essential questions. If the conversation flows from there, even better! The more people you chat with the greater your chances of receiving a prize.
