Denver International Airport’s (DEN) “Zero Waste Valet” program has diverted 69.2 tons of material from the landfill into compost and recycling in its first six months of operation. The pilot program, which launched in June, 2024, has achieved an average waste diversion rate of 71% – or the rate at which trash is kept out of the landfill - three times higher than the airport's facility-wide diversion rate.

The Colorado Circular Communities (C3) Enterprise is a new statewide program dedicated to supporting Colorado’s communities, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and institutions of higher learning with resources to advance the state’s transition to a circular economy. The C3 Enterprise replaced the Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity (RREO) program and the Front Range Waste Diversion (FRWD) program on July 1, 2024 and includes financial and technical assistance to enhance circularity across the state.

The board aims to help Colorado businesses, local governments, and communities efficiently use resources through recycling, composting, extending the use cycle of products, and shifting manufacturing processes to reduce waste.
