Longmont, CO – Last month, Recycle Colorado announced the departure of its treasured Executive Director, Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Chapman, slated to leave her post in early June. Since that announcement, Recycle Colorado has been in search of its new leader. We are thrilled to announce that Brandy Moe has accepted the position of Executive Director of Recycle Colorado effective June 9, 2025.

The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) has reviewed processes that are being researched, developed, and commercialized to convert used plastic into molecular or petrochemical feedstocks, fuels, gases, oils, or waxes has developed this statement to provide NRC policy regarding so-called “chemical recycling” and “advanced recycling.”

Elements Mountain Compost is seeking a composting technician to support the weekly collection and processing of food scraps to create compost. The position involves driving a large pickup truck (no CDL required), moving and cleaning bins, and sifting and bagging compost outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Additional duties may include communicating with current and potential customers, staffing farmers market events, turning compost piles and general site maintenance. No composting experience required, paid training is included but candidates must be dedicated, self-motivated and able to work independently.

The Colorado Circular Communities (C3) Enterprise is accepting applications to provide financial assistance to entities operating free, public recycling drop-off sites for the collection and transportation of recyclables to processing facilities. The deadline to submit completed applications is 11:59 p.m. on May 30, 2025. Recycling rebates are managed and awarded independently of C3 grant funding opportunities and eligibility requirements.

The Operations Manager – Processing, manages relationships with recycling post-collection facilities and processors. This role will oversee CAA’s reimbursement program for post-collection services, including material recovery facilities (MRFs), transfer facilities, and secondary processing. The Operations Manager - Processing will also collaborate with CAA Colorado teammates, the CAA national organization, and external stakeholders to on ramp new materials onto the Minimum Recyclable List (MRL) and invest in Colorado’s recycling infrastructure. This role will ensure workflows are managed to meet critical implementation, operational, and reporting deadlines.

Reporting to the State Executive Director, the Operations Manager - Hauling will oversee CAA’s reimbursement program for collection of residential and non-residential recycling. This role manages relationships and service agreements with recycling collection service providers including municipal, contracted, open market, and drop-off. The Operations Manager - Hauling will also collaborate with CAA teammates and external stakeholders to educate and engage with stakeholders, expand access to recycling collection services, and invest in Colorado’s recycling infrastructure. Recycle Colorado is seeking a passionate, self-motivated, experienced professional to lead Recycle Colorado as we continue to grow our presence across the state and into a national leader in recycling and waste reduction.

The third phase of Longmont’s Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO) has begun implementation as of Jan. 1, 2025, requiring organics (composting) collection for food wholesalers, distributers, manufacturers and grocery stores. 

This staffer will work cross-departmentally to provide educational and engagement strategies and implementation for Eco-Cycle’s campaigns and programs as well as manage our 1,000-plus Eco-Leader Volunteer Network. Specific responsibilities include:

1. Develop and implement community organizing and engagement strategies for Eco-Cycle
2. Lead and manage Eco-Cycle’s Eco-Leader Volunteer Network
3. Be a primary educator for the general community (except for schools)

The Foodservice Packaging Institute’s Foam Recycling Coalition announced that its grant program is now open for 2025, offering a major opportunity to expand foam polystyrene recycling across the United States. Since its inception, the grant program has enabled over 13 million additional residents to recycle foam polystyrene like cups, egg cartons, takeout containers and packaging materials. Facility operators, non-profits and solid waste authorities are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $50,000 to help establish or enhance foam polystyrene recycling in their communities.

The 2025 application period is open now through April 15, 2025. Eligible entities must engage in operating a material recovery facility, manage residential curbside recycling programs, or manage a drop-off or convenience site recycling program.
