Learn about state and federal recycling grants at the virtual Summit for Recycling conference August 25 & 26

Colorado’s first recycling grant program, the Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity Program, has awarded almost $25 million to entities developing recycling infrastructure in the state since 2007. The potential upheaval in global markets presents an opportunity for the U.S. and Colorado recyclers to improve their materials quality and to create local markets that will boost our local economies. Colorado’s newest grant program, the Front Range Waste Diversion Program, will offer approximately $2.5 million for waste diversion projects in its first grant cycle this year.

Attendees to the online 2020 Summit for Recycling conference will learn about these two programs as well as grants available at the federal level. "There's a lot of talk about grant programs in Colorado for the waste diversion sector, and now is the time to tap into grant funding,” said Emily Kaps, Recycle Colorado board member. Anyone considering grant money as a funding source is encouraged to attend the session August 25, part of the two-day event.

Recycle Colorado’s annual Summit for Recycling, online this year, brings together waste processors, manufacturers, government agencies, businesses and individuals from Colorado and surrounding states. The online Summit includes educational sessions, subject-matter experts, virtual exhibit hall, and networking events. The 2020 Summit for Recycling is sponsored by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, MolsonCoors, Swire Coca-Cola, Ball Corporation, Momentum Recycling, Waste-Not Recycling and additional partners.
