Recycle Colorado begins transition to new leadership

As announced earlier this year, Laurie Johnson is transitioning back to the private sector. Laurie accepted a position with 5280 Recycling Solutions as Chief Operating Offier for their recycling division. The Recycle Colorado Board, in partnership with Laurie and 5280, agreed to participate in a transparent and thoughtful transition process over the course of 2019. After the planning and execution of a successful Summit in Pueblo, Laurie's official last day with Recycle Colorado was June 15, 2019.

We cannot thank Laurie enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation she has given Recycle Colorado. We look forward to working with Laurie in her new role and are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of Recycle Colorado as we work to advance infrastructure, end markets and state and local policies in waste reduction, recovery and diversion.

Beginning June 16, Amy Randell, will serve as Recycle Colorado's interim executive director. Amy is the current associate executive director and has been with the organization since 2005. Along with Amy, Recycle Colorado's staff, Laura Levesque-Catalano and Michael Port, will ensure that projects and programs continue and come to fruition as planned.

The Recycle Colorado Board of Directors will launch its search for a new executive director in the coming weeks. The Board strongly encourages our members to share the executive director position once it is posted. The Board is committed to launching a thorough search to find the right person to lead Recycle Colorado into this next phase. Keep an eye on your email for an announcement in the near future.

Questions or concerns during this transition process, can be directed to any Director on the Recycle Colorado Board or send a message to [email protected].
